Aaliyah was an American R&B singer, dancer, and actress, who rose to the peak of popularity in the mid to late-1990's. She is best-known for her hit singles "Back and Forth", "At Your Best (You Are Love)", "Rock the Boat" and "Try Again". On August 25, 2001, aged 22, Aaliyah was tragically killed on a plain crash on her way back to the United States from the Bahamas. Prior to her demise, she sold 32 million albums worldwide, and is often regarded as the "Princess of R&B", alongside fellow R&B stars, Brandy and Monica. She also starred in the 2000 theatrical film, Romeo Must Die.
